University of Sunderland & Joseph Rowntree Foundation: The Registered Managers Award
This course was developed by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and certificated by Edexcel. Its aim is to provide a sound platform for both new and experienced care managemers. It is based on two principles:
- Acquisition of critical enabling knowledge
- Application of this knowledge
This course is ideal for those who currently manage or are hoping to manage a care facility in the statutory, voluntary or private care sectors.
The course consists of seven modules:
- Diversity and equality
- Social aspects of caring in a mixed economy of care
- Caring at home
- Finance for managers of care
- Quality assurance in care settings
- Team management
- Information and meetings in care settings
This degree course is offered through the University of Sunderland's external programme which provides the opportunity for flexible study. Material is provided by the University of Sunderland, while tuition and support is provided by the GTCE.
Students taking this course must be enrolled as external students by the supervising University as well as by the GTCE. Students whose mother tongue is not English will require IELTS Academic 5.5 or higher to proceed with their chosen course. GTCE London will provide IELTS tuition prior to the commencement of the degree course.
